Shirley M. Reiser of Aledo will celebrate her 90th birthday on March

Shirley was born in 1921, the daughter of Harry and Frances Rigg
Breedlove. She married to the M. J. "Joe" Reiser in 1943. Joe
& Shirley had one daughter Gaye, who was the joy of their lives.
Shirley and Joe owned and operated Reiser Funeral Home in Aledo for many years. In her early years Shirley was an entrepreneur.
She began teaching dance, tap, ballet, and baton at the age of 12. She operated her own studio in Galesburg during her high school and college years.
Shirley is a graduate of Knox College in Galesburg. She performed for
the troops during WWII, which is how she met Joe who originally hailed
from Pennsylvania. Shirley is also known for her seamstress skills.
She was active for many years with numerous doll clubs, Eastern Star,
and the Rainbow Girls. She is a member of the Aledo Baptist Church.
