Mercer County Junior High School conducted a “pie” assembly on Wednesday, April 4, for the students doing well on the ISATs last month. Most of the teachers took part in the fun as the students watched them get pied with a paper plate full of whip cream. Nineteen teachers and nine students, with parent permission, were pied as the student body watched, cheered and enjoyed their hour of cool whip frenzy. Several teachers dressed for the occasion, including colorful shower caps and swim goggles. The eighth graders joined in thunderous cheering after watching Mr. Finch, their history teacher, coming down to get pied, since they just recently finished taking the U.S. Constitution test. However, the cheering seemed to escalate when the principal, Mr. Reed joined in, along with Mr. Koresko and Mrs. Johnson. Members of student senate filled the plates with whip cream as they were splashed amongst the staff. All in all, the staff is happy to have the assembly over with!
