  • On Saturday, May 19 at the iWireless Center in Moline, IL, seven-time-Grammy Award-winner Bill Gaither (pictured in attached jpg) will host a spectacular evening of music, laughter and encouragement featuring the world class talent of the Gaither Vocal Band and a star-studded lineup of award-winning artists.
The Gaither Vocal Band, with all-star lineup Mark Lowry, Michael English, David Phelps, Wes Hampton and Bill Gaither, will share timeless gospel classics, as well as refreshing, inspiring new favorites embraced by audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Few events have the ability unite individuals from all walks of life the way Gaither Homecoming concerts do.
Year after year, Bill Gaither has brought the Homecoming Tour into cities worldwide, performing to packed houses with collective attendance figures exceeding 1.1 million people and being ranked among the top concerts for tickets sold worldwide in any music genre during the past decade.  Each concert showcases gospel music's finest talent and draws new listeners with every city.
Gaither continues to be delighted at audiences' response to the concert tour, now more than 40 years after he quit his day job as a teacher: “I've always said it all starts with a great song. And we are so fortunate that each Homecoming concert includes great songs that have stood the test of time and some of the greatest voices in any genre of music. With all the musical choices that are available now, there is still a very special place for the joy and optimism that reside in gospel music. Good news never gets old.”
Named ASCAP's Songwriters of the Century, Bill and Gloria Gaither have written more than 700 popular gospel songs throughout their multi-decade career, including favorite standards “He Touched Me,” Because He Lives,” and “There's Just Something About That Name.” Since 1992, when Gaither began recording the celebrated Homecoming series of DVDs and CDs, most every volume has gone gold or platinum with sales totaling approximately 100 million volumes. The programs appear regularly on television networks around the world.
Joining Gaither and his multi-award winning Gaither Vocal Band for this event will be The Martins, The Nelons, Charlotte Ritchie, Gene McDonald, Gordon Mote and Kevin Williams. Each performer has been honored with countless awards and accolades; however, as Gaither notes, his greatest joy is being able to continue bringing great music to people.
“There are few things in this world I enjoy more than leading an audience through an evening that leaves them inspired, encouraged, hopeful - perhaps introducing them to songs or ideas they can hold onto when life gets tough. It is always my goal that a Homecoming concert lasts much longer than one evening, but stays with folks long after they walk out the door of that concert venue. Music with a purpose is permanent - always a worthy investment! After all, isn't doing what we love the greatest possible success?”
