Jean Ann DiGiacomo, 66, of Arvada, Colo. died on July 1, 2012. She was born in Rock Island on March 22, 1946 to Blain and Gerarda Lingafelter. Horan & McConnaty of Colorado handled the funeral arrangements.
She was a nurse for 25 plus years, but she never really retired as a caregiver. Through all the activities she participated in, she always offered to help, lend a sympathetic ear, and provide care to anyone who asked. Even when she wasn't feeling 100 percent, she always offered to help as best she could. She was an active member of Spirit of Christ Catholic Community, participating in La Familia, Young and Heart, Caring Hearts, Bakers Dozen, Spiritual Survivors, Book Club, and the Shrine of St. Anne Parish Alter and Rosary Society.
She also loved being outdoors in the mountains, gardening and going for walks.
Ron and Jean loved to pass their retirement years traveling and enjoying going out to eat. But their favorite thing to do together was taking care of two beautiful grandchildren. Jean was so proud, she always asked what they were up to and couldn't stop telling all her friends and family about how great they were.
Her parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Ron DiGiacomo; a son, David (Michelle) DiGiacomo, grandchildren Aldo and Gina DiGiacomo and siblings John (Sharon) Lingafelter, Steve (Sandy) Lingafelter, Mary Coulter, and Michael (Cindy) Lingafelter.
