“Organized labor is important to me and my family. My father-in-law had an eighth-grade education. But because of the United Auto Workers (UAW), he was able to earn an honest wage for his hard work and provide his kids with more opportunity than he had,” said Cheri Bustos Democratic Nominee for the 17th Congressional District. “That’s how it’s supposed to work. If you work hard and play by the rules, the next generation is supposed to have more opportunity. But the middle class is under assault by politicians like Romney, Ryan and my opponent Bobby Schilling. In Congress, I will be a passionate advocate for workers and middle class families, and I will make job creation my no.1 priority.”
