Statesville Wisconsin, New Orleans Louisiana, Anchorage Alaska, Washington D.C., Battle Creek Michigan, and San Francisco California – wherever Bob was assigned by the U.S. Public Health Service until his retirement to Morgantown, West Virginia in 1969, where he held positions with the health program of the United Mine Workers and, ultimately, was on the faculty of the West Virginia University School of Medicine. Doris was always eager to move to new areas.
Doris was a 60-year member of PEO, a philanthropic educational organization that helps deserving women to further their education. She belonged to five different PEO chapters, in Anchorage Alaska, Redwood City California, Falls Church Virginia, Morgantown West Virginia, and New Smyrna Beach Florida.
