(Chicago) Cheri Bustos received a general election endorsement from Citizen Action/Illinois Policy Council in her bid for Congress. Bustos is challenging incumbent Congressman Bobby Schilling in Illinois' 17th Congressional District.
"Cheri is the clear choice in this race when it comes to which candidate is going to work harder for the middle class," said William McNary, co-director, Citizen Action/Illinois. "Looking at his voting record, it appears Congressman Schilling has been more interested in taking commands on how to vote from leaders in the Republican Party than listening to the concerns of the his constituents."
"Cheri gives average families in the 17th congressional district the best opportunity to send an elected official to Washington with a commitment to quality, affordable healthcare, workers' rights, and protecting Social Security and Medicaid." said Lynda Delaforgue, co-director, Citizen Action/Illinois. "For that reason, our policy council was very proud to endorse her candidacy."
