  • Sandburg Announces October & November Open Houses & College Fairs

  • Carl Sandburg College invites high school students as well as any individuals interested in exploring what Sandburg has to offer. Several opportunities are available for scheduling a visit to campus in October and November.

  • Carl Sandburg College invites high school students as well as any individuals interested in exploring what Sandburg has to offer. Several opportunities are available for scheduling a visit to campus in October and November.
     
    Monday, Oct. 15, from 9-11:30 a.m. Explore Sandburg: an Athletic Open House will be held for students interested in being a part of an intercollegiate athletic team. Meet the coaches and hear from student athletes what it’s like to be a Charger! Sports teams include: Men’s Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Soccer, and Women’s Basketball, Cross Country, Softball, Volleyball.
     
    Tuesday, Oct. 16, from 6:30-8 p.m. Explore Sandburg: Spanish Language Open House. Join us for a campus tour and information session about Carl Sandburg College in Spanish language. This event is for Spanish-speaking students and parents. Translators will be available.
     
    Monday, Oct. 22, from 6-7:30 p.m. Sandburg will host its annual College Fair in the Sandburg gymnasium. Over 40 colleges will be in attendance to meet prospective students.
     
    Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 6:30-8 p.m. the annual Hancock County College Fair will take place at Hamilton High School gym. Over 25 colleges will be in attendance to meet prospective students.
     
    Monday, Nov. 5, from 7-8:30 p.m. Exploring College: a special seminar will be held for families of first-generation college students. At this seminar families will have the opportunity to explore the college application process, financial aid, scholarships and programs available to assist first-generation college students. This seminar is open to all families interested in college and is not specific to Carl Sandburg College. A student is considered first-generation when neither parent has a bachelor’s degree. A guided campus tour will be available at the end of the session.
     
    Monday, Nov. 12, from 9-11:30 a.m. Explore Sandburg Open House will be held. This is an opportunity to see what academic programs Sandburg has to offer students who are interested in completing their first two years of college and transferring to a four-year college or university. A campus tour will be held. Learn about transfer programs and get to know Sandburg!
     
    Also, Monday, Nov. 12, from 1-3 p.m. Explore Sandburg Open House will be held at the Extension Center in Bushnell and at the Branch Campus in Carthage. This is an opportunity to see what academic programs Sandburg has to offer for students who are interested in completing their first two years of college and transferring to a four-year college or university.
     
    Tuesday, Nov. 13, from 6-7:30 p.m. an Open House will be held at the Annex in downtown Galesburg for those who might be interested in learning about the Dental Hygiene, Cosmetology and Massage Therapy programs. The Annex is located at 209 E. Main St., Galesburg.
