Golden Eagles play in semi-finals Saturday

The Mercer County Golden Eagles are only one game away from returning to the Class 2A championship game.

The only thing standing in the squad's way is Clifton Central, the team that eliminated the Golden Eagles in 2010.

The two teams will face off Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. at George Pratt Memorial Field in Aledo with the winner advancing to the state finale in Champaign and the loser going home.
