  • Wanda L. Greer, 74, of Viola, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2012 at her home. Services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at Fippinger’s where a memorial fund will be established. Online condolences can be made at www.fippingerfuneralhome.com.

    Wanda Greer
    Wanda L. Greer, 74, of Viola, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2012 at her home. Services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial is in the Aledo Cemetery.     Wanda was born March 3, 1938 in Mercer County, to Russell and Florence Russell King. She attended New Boston schools and married Merle L. Greer Aug. 21, 1954 in Aledo. He died in 2001.
     
    She was employed as a CNA at the Mercer County Nursing Home and Georgetown Manor in Aledo for over 30 years, retiring in 2000. She was later employed at the Mercer County Senior Center.
     
    She was a member of American Legion Fallerans Post 121 Auxiliary and former bible school teacher. Wanda loved to play bingo and go to casinos.
     
    She is survived by two daughters: Dorothy (Derwood) Ruggles of Aledo; Wendy (Bill) Reckers of Alpha; one son: Kevin (Robin) Greer of Viola; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and one lovingly expected; two sisters: Anna Inman of Trinidad, Texas; and Vivian Ferguson of Joy; two brothers:  Kenny (Karen) King of Aledo; Rusty (Karen) King of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; several nieces and nephews.
     
    Her parents; husband; two sons: Dwayne “Doby” and Bradley; one granddaughter: Dana Whiting; one sister:  Elizabeth; and one brother: Stanton, preceded her in death.
