Sewell Dillbeck, 90, of Rio, Illinois died Friday Nov. 2, 2012 at his home. Graveside Services are 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 at the Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Galesburg where Military services were conducted. Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Tri-County EMT's. He was born Jan. 26, 1922 in Datto, Arkansas to Oren and Edith Randolph Dillbeck. He graduated from Alexis High School and married Ila F. Williams Feb. 17, 1949 in Aledo. She died in 2009.
Sewell farmed in the Viola, Oneida, and Rio areas and worked as a mechanic for many years. He retired from Maytag in Galesburg in 1989 after 26 years of employment.
For many years he raised and sold Clydesdale Horses which he trained both separately and in teams to work for area farmers . He enjoyed fishing, gardening and especially enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda (Glenn) Rezac of Emmett, KS; Karen ( Keith) Stille of Woodhull, one son William (Carol) Dillbeck of Cambridge, nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, two brothers , Robert Dillbeck of Muscatine, Iowa, James Troy Dillbeck of Chicago and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife, step-mother Martha, one sister Mava and one brother Rex preceded him in death
