  • Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) was named a Congressional Problem Solver by the bipartisan group No Labels. This group consists of members of Congress, Democrats and Republicans from both the House and the Senate, who are committed to meeting on a regular basis to build trust across the aisle and work together to solve the problems confronting the American people. In addition to being named a Congressional Problem Solver, Cheri officially joined the bipartisan No Labels group.
"I'm looking forward to working with No Labels and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to find bipartisan, common sense solutions that put the people of our region first," said Congresswoman Cheri Bustos. "Whenever it comes to bringing jobs, economic opportunity, and a better future to communities across our region, I'll work with anyone if it is in the best interest of the people of Illinois' 17th District."
Cheri has already taken steps to work towards increasing bipartisanship in Washington. After being elected, Cheri reached out to every freshman member of Congress to introduce herself and say she's looking forward to working with them. She also attended several bipartisan working retreats with the freshman members of Congress, participated in a bipartisan National Day of Service project at a Washington-area school and attended a recent No Labels Congressional Problem Solvers bipartisan breakfast meeting.
No Labels is a grassroots movement of conservatives, liberals and everything in between, who are committed to a new politics of problem solving.
