ROCK ISLAND, IL – To encourage economic development, ensure public safety, and create local jobs, State Rep. Pat Verschoore (D-Milan) was recently appointed to serve on six House committees. Verschoore will serve as chairman of the influential Agriculture & Conservation Committee during the new legislative session.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to serve on these committees and address the issues that are important to my constituents,” Verschoore said. “As Chair of the Agriculture and Conservation Committee I will work to make sure the people who live in rural parts of the state get the attention they deserve.”
As chairman of the of the Agriculture and Conservation Committee, Verschoore will be in charge of addressing issues that affect agribusiness, farms and the preservation of Illinois natural resources. Verschoore will also serve as vice chairman of the Counties and Townships committee where he will tackle local government issues. As vice chairman of the HealthCare Licenses Committee he will help oversee issues related to the medical field. Additionally Verschoore will promote local public safety and security on the Public safety and Appropriations public safety committees.
“Committee assignments allow me the chance to take part in advancing vital legislation as we aim to improve the lives of all Illinois’ residents,” Verschoore said. “Illinois is facing many challenges and once again I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working to address these issues.”
