Legendary Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss died today at age 79, The Associated Press reported. Buss bought the Lakers in 1979 and turned the franchise into a global force, and his teams made the NBA finals 16 teams in 32 years.

A total of 68 pythons were killed in a hunt sponsored by the state of Florida. Pythons are an invasive species and have decimated mammal wildlife in the Everglades, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says.
