"To love the church means also to have the courage to take difficult, painful decisions, always keeping the good of the church in mind, not oneself." - Pope Benedict XVI in his last public address before he steps down as pope. Bendict urged the crowds in St. Peter's Square to pray for his successor and reitereated his reasons for resigning, according to The Associated Press. The pope's routine has been to give a weekly catechism every Wednesday during his eight-year papacy, in an effort to teach the world about the Catholic faith.
