  • Obituary: JANE DOLLINS, Benton

  • Jane (Harvey) Dollins, 75, of Benton passed away Tuesday evening, March 5, 2013, at her home.
     
     
    Graveside services will be held at 12 noon Friday, March 8, at the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton, with Brother Scott Williams officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Leffler-Poulson Funeral Home of Benton.
     
     
    Jane was born on June 24, 1937, in Irving to John and Gladys Harvey. Jane graduated from Coffeen High School and then attended college at Southern Illinois University. She married Ronald Dollins on Dec. 24, 1958, and he survives.
     
     
    Jane was self-employed as a cosmetologist for 57 years and continued to work until December 2012.
     
     
    She attended Fires of Revival Chapel in Benton for many years where she led worship and taught Sunday school, and most recently attended Life Church in Marion. Jane lived life to the fullest and was an example of Christ-like character in her compassion, humility and love for others. Even throughout her illness, she maintained a positive attitude and a strong faith and trust in her Savior Jesus Christ. Jane also loved watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball and spending time with her family.
     
     
    She is survived by her husband, Ronald of Benton; three sons, David Dollins and wife Lisa of Paducah, Ky., Michael Dollins and wife Amy of Benton, and Stephen Dollins and wife April of Marion; a sister, Ann Williams of Hillsboro; and eight grandchildren, Nathan, Abigail and Jared of Paducah, Ky., Michaela and MacKenzie of Benton, and Jessica, Victoria and Ava of Marion.
     
     
    Jane was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys Harvey; sisters, Mary Traylor, Lila Austin and Alvena Criner; and a brother, John Harvey.
