Peace in life can be achieved, in my opinion, by several actions.  First of all, I think you have to know that you have a purpose, having a purpose means that you belong in the Grand Design or scheme of things. You are a microcosm in the macrocosm of life. Why are you here? What is your purpose? We may never know why we exist, but we should know what we intend to do with that existence. I believe that I was made to be the Mother of a special little girl. If I never accomplish another goal in my life, I know that I was the best Mother I could be. My role as a teacher has also given me peace. I didn’t reach every child, but I touched many and know that I made a difference in a few chosen lives.

Next, I think that you have to be spiritual. If you do not have a relationship with the Creator of Mankind, then you cannot fully sustain the role that has been assigned to you. Due to the nature of this topic, I will leave it at that.

Third, you have to attain a level of contentment. If you never reach a place in life where you are happy with what you have, then you will never be joyful, or “joy filled”. That’s not to say that you don’t want to “live in the blessing”. It’s just that if a void is within you and you try to plug that void with trivial items, you will never reach a point of harmony. Money, clothing, trips, luxury items…can’t give you peace. Contentment with what you have and knowing that you will always have your needs met, will provide you with serenity.

Finally, a life without gratitude is no life at all. In order to be at peace in your life, you have to have a profound sense of gratitude for what you have thus far. When you realize that your “cup runneth over” you will not be constantly looking for what you don’t have, because you will be focused on what you do.

To review, in my own personal opinion, peace in life can be achieved by knowing that you were created with an intention in mind. Next, you must be spiritual and have a connection with the Creator of Man. You must be content and also have profound gratitude. I am very fortunate. I achieved a peace at a young age. Have I gone through hard times? You better believe it. Has my Faith waivered? Yes. Did I ever want to give up? Many times. However, if I adhere to my own advice written in this article, peace washes over me like water over rock.
