  • Fred L. Bryant, 76, of Illinois City, Illinois died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Unity Point Health - Trinity, Muscatine, Iowa.
    Funeral services are 10 a.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at Keithsburg First Christian Church, Rev. Charles Reynolds officiating. Burial was in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. Serving as pallbearers were Randy Staley, Merle Reed, Bill Bluedorn, Jim Weber, Doug McCaw, Dwight Krueger. Honorary pallbearers were Don McCaw and Lee Frick. Visitation was Sunday, July 7 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be estab- lished.
    Fred was born on April 17, 1937 in Pana, Illinois, a son of Delmar and Thelma Jennings Bryant. He mar- ried Janet McCaw on June 1, 1957 in Keithsburg. He was a veteran of the US Army. Fred was employed at John Deere Plow and Planter in Moline for 30 years, retiring on June 1, 1995.
    Fred was a member of Keithsburg First Christian Church. He was also a member of the Illinois City Saddle Club and was a past president. He enjoyed camping and horseback riding with his wife and friends.
    Survivors include his wife, Janet of Illinois City; son, Roy of Aurora, Colo.; daughter, Jacquelin of Cameron; brother, Ira of Escondido, Calif.; sister, Cleo (Joe) Phifer, Ethel, Wash.; sister-in-law, Ellen Woodall, Aurora, Colo. and six nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his parents.
