  • Anna Mae Schmidt, 75, of Edgington, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island. Funeral
    services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 13228 140th St. W., Taylor Ridge. Visitation was Friday, June 7, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 201 E. 4th Ave., Milan. Burial was at Edgington Cemetery, Edgington. Memorials may be made in care of the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church or to the Edgington Cemetery.
    Anna was born on November 1, 1937 in Taylor Ridge, a daughter of Allen and Erma Fix Baker. She married Lyle LaVerne Schmidt on September 2, 1956 in Edgington. He died October 28, 2003.
    Anna was a homemaker the majority of her life. She spent several of her later years working at Rockridge High School. She was a lifelong member of the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a past deacon.
    Prior to Lyle’s passing, Anna and Lyle were your typical snowbirds who spent their time in Texas and enjoyed golfing together. Anna also enjoyed lunch and shopping trips with “the girls.” She loved cooking and being a mother and grandmother.    She had a huge heart and cared about everyone.
    Survivors include; her children (and spouses), Gregory (Renea) Schmidt, Andalusia, Peggy (Randy) Lashbrook, Milan, and Brian (Lorrie) Schmidt, Reynolds; and five grandchildren, Brittany, Kasey, Tony, Jayme, and Maegan.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Marilyn Minch.
