Judith A. Newton, 75, of Aledo, died Friday, June 28, 2013 at Aledo Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral serv- ices were 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial was in the Aledo Cemetery. Judy was born April 12, 1938 in Aledo to Harlan and Dorothy Wood Johnson. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1956 and married James Bridgford. She later married Delbert Max Newton January 4, 1975 in Aledo. He died October 30, 1987.

She was employed for many years at Quinn’s Grocery Store and Alliance Plumbing and Heating both in Aledo. Most recently she was employed at the Aledo Hardware Store and Doug’s Town and Country Restaurant.

Her memberships include the Hawthorne Ridge Golf Club, Mercer County VFW Post 1571 Auxiliary and the Domino Club. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, shopping, playing cards and going to the casino.

Survivors include three daughters, Stacy (Rodney) Franks of Aledo, Kim Penman of Fayetteville, NC, Jaimi Reynolds of Clarkrange, Tenn., one son, Mitchell Bridgford of Flushing, NY, eight grandchildren, several great grandchildren. three sisters, Wanda (Delano) Ohaver of Farmington, Peggy (Tom) Brooks of Cameron, Sandra (Louis) Powell of Aledo, two broth- ers, Kenneth (Liz) Johnson of Aledo and James “Butch” (Jenny England) Johnson of Galesburg, several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, son-in-law, Jeff Reynolds and a sister, Connie preceded her in death.
