    Martha Josephine Sandona, 89, of Keokuk died at 3:25 pm, on July 16, 2013 at River Hills Village in Keokuk, Iowa.
     
    She was born on January 20, 1924 in Seaton, Illinois; Martha was the daughter of Nathan and Margaret Craig Ranney. She married John “Sandy” Sandona on January 12, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1969.
     
    Martha enjoyed her grandchildren, her many friends and her flower gardens and yard. She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she was a member of M&M Ladies Circle. Martha and Sandy were known and loved by many through their operation of the Chief Recreation Center and Arrowhead Bowl.
     
    Martha is survived by her daughter, Patti Huiskamp, and her husband Bob, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and sons Ray Sandona of Los Angeles, California and Jay Sandona of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, and wife Michele. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Logan Huiskamp and his wife Allyson, Martha Huiskamp, Taylor Sandona and Jordan Sandona, great-granddaughter Charlotte Huiskamp, her beloved sister Nellie, brother- and sister-in-law and nine nieces and nephews.
     
    Besides her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret, and brothers-in-law and niece.
     
    Her family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2013 at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street.
     
    A memorial service for Martha will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at First Christian Church with Rev. David Turner officiating.
     
    Private interment at Keokuk National Cemetery will be at a later date.
     
    Martha’s family wishes to thank the staff at River Hills Village for the loving care she received, the pastoral comfort from her church family and the abundant visits from her friends.
     
    In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be given in Martha’s memory to First Christian Church, Keokuk Area Hospital Foundation, River Hills Village, Iowa Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
