  • Joy E. Ball, 85, of Aledo, formerly of Fort Madison, Ia., died Friday, Aug. 23, 2013 at Genesis Senior Living Center in Aledo. Cremation has been accorded. Graveside services are 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013 at Burge Cemetery in New London, Ia.     She was born June 4, 1928 in New London, Ia. to Guy and Charlotte Wellington Ball. She graduated from New London High School and never married.
     
    Joy was employed at Sheaffer Pen Company for 38 years, retiring from the merchandising return department in 1990.
     
    She was a member of the Fort Madison United Methodist Church.
     
    She is survived by two sisters: Betty Traxler of Texas; Sadie Day of Arlington, Ia.; several nieces and nephews.
     
    She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Merle and Gene Ball; and one sister: Ruth Heldt.
