Barbara H. Hampton, 77, of Taylor Ridge, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Andalusia. Burial is at Andalusia Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 8 Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan, where a Christian wake service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Andalusia Volunteer Ambulance Service.
Barbara H. Haas was born Dec. 28, 1935 in Rock Island, the daughter of Raymond and Helen Hamerlinck Haas. She married John E. Hampton on May 7, 1955 in Milan. He died Feb. 27, 2006.
Barb worked as a bus driver for the Rockridge School District for over 27 years. She was currently working part-time at Milan License and Title.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Andalusia. Barb enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and mowing grass.
Survivors include her daughter, Renae A. Hampton, Andalusia; special family friend, Pam Bischoff, Andalusia; uncle, Ed Hamerlinck, Davenport; sisters-in-law, Verna (Chuck) DeClerck, Aledo, Mary Cameron, Aledo, Delores (Wayne) Anderson, Taylor Ridge, Elaine Rommel, Moline, Joyce Hill, Maryville, Ill., Jan (Mike) Brinkman, Washington, Ill.; brother-in-law, Don (Eileen) Hampton, Aledo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
