    Nellie J. McKeag, 90, of Avonlea Cottage, Milan, formerly of Lynn Center, died Thursday, September 19, 2013, at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island. Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Cable Community Church. Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Burial was at Homestead Cemetery in Rural Township. Memorials may be made to Cable Community Church.
    Nellie was born on Dec. 19, 1922, in rural Sherrard, the daughter of John and Sadie (Hancock) Moline.
    She married Vernon McKeag on April 21, 1943, in Aledo, and he preceded her in death on Feb.12, 1998.
    Nellie was a proud farm wife and homemaker. She also was a dietician at Oak Glenn for thirteen years. Nellie was a lifetime member of Cable Community Church, where she served as Sunday school teacher and Deacon. Her church family was precious to her. She also was a die-hard Cardinal fan. Survivors include: children Bobbye (Gary) McManus Preemption, Sandra (Ken) Downey Durango, Colo., Vernon McKeag Lynn Center, Andy McKeag Rock Island, nine grand- children, 14 great grandchildren, sisters Kathleen Fowler Silvis, Marty West East Moline.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Fred Moline and Bill Moline.
