Rock Island, Ill. – On Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m., Augustana College’s Chemistry Club will host an open house to celebrate National Chemistry Week. The free event geared to children and teens will be held in Room 102 of the Hanson Hall of Science (726 35th St.)
Augustana chemistry students, along with members of the faculty, will perform demonstrations using their knowledge of chemistry.
The Augustana Chapter of the American Chemical Society seeks to provide students with a chance to participate in fun and educational activities that promote an interest in chemistry. The organization gives students and faculty an opportunity to work and learn together in a fun, relaxed environment.
Augustana College offers a major and minor in chemistry, a major and minor in biochemistry, and a major for teaching chemistry. The college’s chemistry program is nationally accredited by the American Chemical Society.
