    Marie M. Pearson, 92, of Edgington, passed away on the 10th of October, 2013 in Moline, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 13228 140th St. W., Taylor Ridge. Visitation was Sunday from 1-4 p.m. at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 801 Edgington St., Reynolds. Burial was at Edgington Cemetery, Edgington. Memorials may be made in care of the Edgington Evangelical Presbyterian Church or to the Andalusia Cemetery Association.
    Marie Marguerite (Leffler) Pearson was born in Blakesburg, Iowa. on May 4th, 1921. She was married to Donald Elliott Pearson in Rock Island, on March 8th, 1941.
    Marie was a graduate from Rock Island High School and was member of the Presbyterian Women’s Association of the Presbyterian Church of Edgington. She was paramount in the establishment of the “Baby Animal Barn” at the Rock Island County Fair. She was fond of feeding and watching birds and her barn cats. She was a local historian and loved hunting for arti- facts. In her earlier years she could be found at the penny slot machines in Las Vegas once a year. She was an avid gardener and mega- Christmas shopper. She was known for her baking talents, especially chocolate cakes.
    She is survived by two sisters Helen (Leffler) Mosher of Rock Island, and Shirley (Leffler) Wilson of Sherrard; four children; William Donald Pearson and his wife Barbara (Seitz) Pearson of Taylor Ridge, Deborah Sue (Pearson) Girls and her husband Richard Keith Girls of Reynolds, Mary Louise Pearson of Rock Island, Anthony Edward Pearson of Santa Maria, Calif.; eight grandchildren, twenty two great-grand- children, and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
    She is preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Pearson, parents Harry Leffler and Elzada (Simmons) Leffler; Brothers Gerald H. Leffler, Ralph L. Leffler, Glenn Leffler, and Donald E. Leffler.
    The family would like to say “Thank You” to Mary Rose Kerres for being special friend to Marie during her fight with Alzheimer’s.
