Dona M. Baker-Brokaw, 91, of Aledo, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013 at Genesis Senior Living Center in Aledo. Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Aledo. Burial will be in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. She was born November 14, 1921 in Aledo, to Clen and Mabel Brownlee Brown. She graduated from Aledo High School and attended Western Illinois University. Dona married Lloyd Baker June 14, 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. He died May 15, 1984. She later married Weir Brokaw March 16, 1991 in Chandler, Ariz. He died January 8, 1999.
Dona was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farm.
She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, having taught Sunday School for many years and par- ticipated in the Bible Bunch, an after school ministry program. She was also a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau Women’s Committee, having served as chair- man from 1975-1978.
She enjoyed sewing, golfing, dancing, boating, cook- ing, baking and especially enjoyed her family. She was an avid Cubs fan.
Survivors include one daughter: Gloria Bewley of Avon; two sons: Jerry (Ella Mae) Baker; Mark (Lisa) Baker, both of Aledo; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; stepchil- dren: Karen Weaver of Redwing, Minn.; Michael Brokaw of Aledo; several step-grandchildren and step- great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- bands; five sisters; and two brothers.
