The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors reelected Wauconda High School Principal Dan Klett as the Board President at its regularly scheduled meeting at the IHSA office in Bloomington on Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
In addition, the Board also voted East Peoria Principal Chuck Nagel as the Vice-President and reelected Chicago (Gordon Tech) Principal Dr. Jim Quaid as the Secretary.
“I am appreciative of the opportunity to continue serving as the President of the IHSA Board of Directors,” said Klett. “I have the pleasure of working with a group of dedicated professionals on the Board and in the IHSA office. I am proud to represent this organization and humbled by the support of my colleagues on the Board.”
Klett is the 34th individual to serve as the Association’s Board President since its formation in 1903.
The meeting was also the first for newly elected Board members John Stimler, principal of Chicago (Mt. Carmel) representing Division 1, and Robert Nolting, principal of Tinley Park (Andrew) representing Division 3.
“We are very lucky to have a Board of Directors made up of individuals that are committed to the best interests of our member schools and students,” said IHSA Executive Director Marty Hickman. “Our Board members volunteer their time and resources to serve our schools, where they deal with difficult and diverse issues. We feel privileged to work alongside them.”
