Adaire Brenda Thompson, 56, of Sun City, Ariz., and formerly of the Pontiac area, died at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, on the Carnival Cruise ship “Miracle.”
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Grace Episcopal Church, Pontiac.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Stricklin-Smively Funeral Home, Long Beach, Calif., has charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Thompson was born Oct. 13, 1957, the daughter of Clyde Holden and Irene (Mass) Johnson. She married Joshua Thompson Feb. 16, 1980, in Charlevoix, Mich. He survives in Sun City, Ariz.
She is also survived by one daughter, Kate (Micheal) Simpson, Pontiac; one son, Jacob Thompson, Philadelphia, Pa.; one sister, Kristy (Ingrid Snelling) Johnson, Plano, Texas; and two brothers, Gary (Ellen) Johnson, Loveland, Colo., and Bret Johnson, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Mrs. Thompson graduated with two degrees from Lake Superior State University, Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
She worked with computers and as a bookkeeper/accountant in Pontiac and Bloomington.
Mrs. Thompson loved her children and loved watching their activities. She was always willing to work on projects and was always known for being a friend with a great personality.
She will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She always thought of others first.
