Tyler Frieden of rural Joy pled guilty to the Class A misdemeanor of cruelty to an animal in Mercer County Circuit Court Tuesday, Dec. 10.
Frieden had been arrested for running down a boxer in his vehicle.
Frieden was fined $500 and ordered to pay $1,395 in restitution as well as send a letter of apology to the family who owned the dog. He was also ordered to serve 24 months conditional discharge and 100 days in the Mercer County Jail. The 100 days in jail will be stayed if he obeys the other terms of the plea.
