The day allows students from the Aledo, New Boston, Sherrard, and Winola Grade Schools to have hands-on experiences in areas related to agriculture, conservation and the environment in addition to providing some fun activities. The students will rotate from station to station as area conservation and agriculture experts teach the students a wide variety of topics ranging from animal care to an edible landfill.

We encourage you to consider covering this event which is celebrating its 18th anniversary. Over 4,100 Mercer County students have attended ACE camp since 1996. The Mercer County Farm Bureau and Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District feel that this is a great way for students to learn how to care for the environment and is a great way to learn about agriculture as the number of people directly involved in agriculture decreases.

The event will be held rain or shine. If it rains, we’ll hold the stations in the numerous livestock buildings at the fairgrounds.
