  • The Aledo Police Department is investigating numerous vehicle burglaries throughout the City, in the past 2 weeks. Every vehicle that has been entered has been unlocked and no force entry has been made. Items taken include cash, cameras, binoculars and other electronic items. "I need everyone to "PLEASE" lock your vehicles, and if not, then don't leave any valuables in your vehicles. I don't understand when we alert our citizens to a problem like this, that they still leave their vehicles unlocked. We are pursuing this investigation and any help from the public would be welcomed," Aledo Police Chief J. Michael Sponsler.
Also any citizen noticing any suspicious activity, please call the Mercer County Sheriff's Department (either 911 or 309-582-5194) immediately so we can have an Officer respond to that area and check it out.
For additional information contact J. Michael Sponsler, Chief of Police at (309) 582-2330
