He was born August 28, 1937 to Ruth Mayhew-Greer and Richard Marsh Greer in Monmouth, IL.
Emmanuel Missionary College, Andrews University and the University of Illinois-Campaign-Urbana campus, were Harold's Alumnus. He held graduate degrees in Theology and Education Counseling. As an Ordained Minister, he pastored churches in Illinois and Georgia, then served as Chaplain to the military, hospitals and other medical institutions. His very personal and meaningful words were always loved and appreciated by families for weddings, funerals, baby dedications and the messages he shared from the pulpit and on radio programs.
At Harold's request, a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends was held on his 80th birthday, August 28, at his son's home in Plainfield, IL. His cremains were taken to the Dick Greer family farm near Joy, IL along with the ashes of a beloved pet dog, Holly.
Harold is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice, two sons, Gregory & Stephen Greer, daughter-in-law, Donna Greer, 10 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters and a brother-in-law, John Abbett.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.
