Marjorie A. Stone, age 91, of Franklin Grove, Illinois and formerly of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at the Franklin Grove Nursing Home in Franklin Grove, IL on Sunday November 5, 2017 at 8:15 am.
A funeral service will be on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at Turnbull Funeral Home in Monmouth, Illinois. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Her family plans to receive friends at Turnbull Funeral Home for an hour prior to the service, from 10:00 am to 11:00 on Wednesday.

Marjorie A. Stone, age 91, of Franklin Grove, Illinois and formerly of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at the Franklin Grove Nursing Home in Franklin Grove, IL on Sunday November 5, 2017 at 8:15 am. Marjorie was born on October 1, 1926 in Monmouth, and is the daughter of Harry Morton and Constance Gail Miller Hill. She was raised in Alexis, IL where she attended school and graduated from Alexis High School with the class of 1944. She then attended Bradley University in Peoria, IL. Marjorie married Rolland C. Stone on May 24, 1946 in the Norwood Presbyterian Church near Monmouth. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2012. Marjorie first worked at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown, Iowa and then was employed at Admirals in Galesburg, for a time. She is a member of First Christian Church in Monmouth, Illinois and the Warren County Genealogical Society for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Shirley J. Stone (Charles) Crabtree of Dixon, Illinois. Her grandchildren, Chad, Richard, and Nathan Stone, Natalie (Stone) Lauck, Mitchell Crabtree, Christie Crabtree, Steven Stone, Jennifer (Stone) Brown, and Melissa (Stone) Jangelis are surviving. There are nine great granddaughters and three great grandsons. She is preceded in her death by her parents, husband, her daughter, Patricia, sons Allen and David, great granddaughter Afton one sister, Irene Carlson and two brothers, Robert and Donald Hill.
