Janet M. Loveless, 67 of Aledo, IL died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Unity Point Health in Rock Island. Services are 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial will be 2:00 Monday in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is 1:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of services at Fippinger’s where a memorial fund will be established.

Janet M. Jan was born December 26, 1949 in Davenport, Iowa to William and Betty Behm Houston.  She graduated from Bettendorf High School.  She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in special education from Northeast Missouri State (Truman).  Jan married Charles J. Loveless June 14, 1969 in Bettendorf, Iowa.  He died August 19, 2016.

She was employed at the Black Hawk Area Special Education Center.  She was then employed as a sales representative in Western Illinois for the Phillip Morris Company until a tragic automobile accident in July 1993 left her a quadriplegic.  Jan proved to be a courageous fighter throughout her 24-year battle with paralysis.

She was a member of the Oakview Country Club where she loved to golf and was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Aledo.  Jan enjoyed shopping and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include two daughters: Heather Loveless of Aledo; Kam (Mike) Pollett of Normal, IL; four grandchildren: Chelsey and Cody Lewis, Brady and Kylie Pollett; five great grandchildren; her parents: William and Betty Houston of Bettendorf, Iowa; sister: Barb (Chuck) Lee of Davenport, Iowa; brother: Tom (Cheryl) Houston of Aurora, IL; in-laws:  Nancy (Rich) Hinrichs of Rock Falls, IL; Gary (Jill) Loveless of Westin, MO and Rachel Payne of St. Charles, MO; several nieces and nephews.

Her husband preceded her in death.
