Pauline Crompton, 98, of Illinois City, passed on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at her home. Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Muscatine. Burial will be in the Drury Reynolds Cemetery. Following committal services at the cemetery, food and fellowship will be held at the Illinois City Hall. Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elsie Pauline Feldman was born on April 3, 1920, in Rock Island County (Drury Township) the daughter of Elmer and Alice (Gillett) Feldman. On December 13, 1941, Pauline was united in marriage to Kenneth G. Crompton in Hannibal, Missouri. Pauline taught for 38 years, including rural country schools and Rockridge School District. She was a member of the Buffalo Prairie Presbyterian Church, A.A.R.P., N.R.T.A., I.R.T.A., Mercer County R.T.A. and a 50+ year member of the Milan Order of Eastern Star #326 and Black Hawk Pythian Sisters #254. Pauline enjoyed playing softball in her earlier years, dancing with her husband and traveling with friends.

Pauline will be deeply missed by her children, Stephanie Crompton of Moline and Jacalyn (Russel) Hofer of Illinois City; grandchildren, Rikki (James) Hetzler and Wade (Denise) Hofer, both of Illinois City; great grandchildren, Madison Hetzler, Austyn Hetzler, William Hofer, Cohen Hofer, and special family friend Martha Lott.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; brother James and sister Dorothy.
