Memorial services for John R. Frost, 72 of Aledo, will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church, Aledo. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Private family burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Aledo or The One Eighty Zone Food Pantry. John passed away peacefully at 5 am Saturday, November 24, 2018 at his home.

John was born on August 18, 1946 in Salem, Illinois the son of Kenneth & Lavon (Hunter) Frost. He was a 1964 graduate of Monmouth High School. John and Betty L. Slater were married on June 11, 1977 at the Fairview Center United Methodist Church, Monmouth.

For over 40 years, John was a commercial plumber through Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 25. He was employed with Jerden Plumbing and Heating in Monmouth and Thomas Plumbing & Heating in Galesburg. After retirement he enjoyed driving for Essig Motors, Aledo; helping drive Miss Virginia; riding his Harley with Randy and helping farmers during harvest. John loved life with his family and friends and especially adored his grandchildren. John and Betty cherished their time together riding bikes around town, traveling to see relatives and visiting Amish country. He enjoyed the outdoors, attending sprint car races and was very passionate about his service with The One Eighty Zone Food Pantry and attending the First Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish John’s memory include his wife, Betty; Children (spouses): John (Chris) Frost, Jr. of Rio, IL; Dustin (Kim) Frost of Naples, FL and Britni (Justin) Ewing of Seaton, IL; grandchildren: Simon Peterson; Seth Parlier; Angus, Oen, Ava & Sophia Frost and Jady Ewing; He was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister, Linda, at birth.
