Trooper Jacob C. Zimmerman began his career in law enforcement at the Mercer County Sheriff's Office in 2002. He later moved to Alabama where he was employed with the Phenix City Police Department and attended the Alabama Police Academy in 2004.

He later went to work with the Lee County Sheriff's Office in 2006. In May of this year Zimmerman was accepted into the Alabama State Trooper Academy. He attended the 12-week accelerated Class 2008-A for prior law enforcement officers. He graduated the academy with 15 other troopers on Sept. 5.

Zimmerman is currently assisgned to highway patrol division, Troop-G located in Opelika, Alabama. He is the son of Randy Zimmerman of Joy and Kathrine Campbell of Joy.
