Brad Cooper, 51, died on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at the Witham Hospital, Lebanon, Ind.
Funeral Services for Brad of Lebanon, Ind., formerly of Aledo, was on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation was Tuesday evening, prior to services from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Brad Cooper Memorial Fund.
Merle Bradley Cooper was born on April 13, 1958 in Rushville, to Milford Merle and Martha Louis (McDonald) Cooper. He married Daisy Bearce on Oct. 2, 1982 in Tampa, Fla.
Brad was employed with Weber Concrete in Indiana. He had previously been employed with North American Van Lines. Brad was also a veteran of the United States Navy.
Brad was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with them, especially on his 1928 John Deere GP, which he had restored. He also enjoyed restoring, and swapping hit and miss engines. He was a member of the Boone County Antique Tractor and Machinery Club and the Stewarts Pond Fishing Club. He was also an avid marble collector.
Those left to cherish Brad’s memory include his wife Daisy; son: James and his wife, Tammie of New Boston; daughter, Colleen Downey and fiancé, George “Butch” Houdyshell of Viola; three grandchildren: Stephen Isaih Hall, Gerald Levi Austin Downey and Dreggon Corona Cooper; grandmother, Della Faye McDonald of Lewiston; sisters: Becky Driscoll of Lake Elsinore, Calif. and Bonny Heinrichs of Aledo; Father and Mother In-Law: Johnnie and Mary Bearce of Otis, Colo.; three brothers and sisters-in-law: John & Cheryl Bearce of Otis, Colo., Audie & Lorie Bearce of Haigler, Neb. and Perry and Kim Bearce of Henderson, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. Brad was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; brother-in-law, Jerry Heinrichs; Uncle Ronny McDonald and Grandfather, Jimmy McDonald.
