Gerald F. Finch, 88 ,of East Moline, formerly of Joy,. died Friday Jan. 29, 2010 in his home. Services were 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial was in Peniel Cemetery. Visitation took place one hour prior to services at Fippinger’s where memorials may be left to Mercer County Nursing Home or Community Of Christ Church in Moline. He was born Feb. 23, 1921 in New Windsor, a son of Friend and Minota Keck Finch. He graduated from Joy high School in 1939 and married Constance Child May 28, 1949 in Rock Island..
He was a U.S. Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII serving in the 8th Air Force and was employed at John Deere Service Center retiring in 1986 He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Moline.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, two brothers, Lewis Finch of Aledo and Herman Finch of Carlsbad, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
