Four Monmouth College softball players make up one-third of the South Division All-Midwest Conference team.
Seniors Lauren Bergstresser (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and Brooke Twohill (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and sophomores Caitlin Lingle (Andalusia, Ill./Rockridge) and Sommer Foster (Alexis, Ill./United) were selected for the honor in a vote of the league’s coaches.
Rockridge High School has postponed the Rocket Invite Softball Tournament championship game scheduled for 5 p.m on March 24 due to inclement weather.
The championship game between Rock Island High School and Rockridge will now be playced on Monday, March 26 at 4:30 p.m. at Rockridge High School. Both schools qualified for the championship gtame by going 2-0 in pool play. Rockridge defeated Stark County and Bureau Valley and Rock Island defeated United (Alexis) and Eureka.

The Bob Mitton Invite has been posponed until Saturday morning at 8 a.m. according to Athletig Director Blake Von Holten. The tournament was supposed to have begun Friday evening.
Mercer County, Sherrard and Rockridge are just three of the 17 area teems that will be competing in the 29th Annual "Bob Mitton" tournament Jan. 20 and 21 at Orion High School.
Kaylee Moseley of Rockridge shattered a school record hitting seven three pointers Jan. 17 in the Rockets 75-65 loss to the Sherrard Tigers.
Moseley broke the record of five set in 2004 by Ashley Darland.
The Rockridge Rockets defeated Mercer County 72-50 on Jan. 7.
The two teams fought to a 15-15 standstill in the opening period but the Rockets scored 22 points in the second quarter and took a 37-27 lead into the lockerroom at the half. After a 16-6 run in the third quarter Rockridge led 53-33 heading into the final period.
The Rockridge girls basketball team lost to Alleman 59-44 on Jan. 3.
The Rockets held a slim 10-7 lead after the first quarter on the strength of Kaylee Moseley's seven points. Alleman rebounded in the second quarter and went on a 20-8 run through the period where five Pioneers scored, four from the foul line, and led 27-18 at the half.
Each team scored 14 points in the third quarter. Caitlin McVay kept the Rockets in the game with six points in the period. The Rockets trailed 41-32 heading into the final period. It was Alleman who took the game up a notch in the final period outscoring Rockridge 18-12 to finish the game strong.
Scoring for Rockridge were: Kaylee Moseley, 14; Caitlin McVay, 13; Emily Watkins, 11; Miranda Potter, four and Allyson Martens, two.
The Rockridge Rockets improved to 13-6 on the season Monday night when they beat Mercer County in two games 25-11 and 26-24. Mercer County fell to 6-8 with the loss.

The Mercer County High School 4 x 100 meter track team (Payton Holmes, Andrew Christie, Tanner Benson and Cameron Muske) has qualified for the finals Thursday, May 26. The Golden Eagles will compete Saturday, May 28 for the state title. The Golden Eagles finished with a time of 44.24 which was second in its heat.
