The Sherrard Tigers boys' basketball team defeated Rockridge 75-64 on Jan. 8.
Sherrard took the early lead in the first quarter outscoring Rockrige 17-11. Tiger Logan Frye hit a pair of three pointers in the period while Jake Friichtenicht scored five points as well.

Rocket Joe Heath helped Rockridge keep pace with seven points in the first period.

Sherrard expanded its lead to 40-26 in the second period. Friichtenicht was nearly unstoppable hitting a trio of three pointers while scoring 12 points in the period. Sherrard outscored Rockridge 23-15 in the period.

Jeremy McManus hit a pair of three pointers in the period for Rockridge but it wasn't enough.
The Tigers maintained the lead in the third period as Friichtenicht and Mitch Heiar added five points apiece. Heath scored nine points in the third quarter for Rockridge but the Rockets still trailed 54-39 heading into the final period.

Heath tried to lead the Rockets back in the fourth quarter scoring six of his eight fourth period points from the free throw line.

It wasn't enough.

The Tigers missed some free throws down the stretch to allow Rockridge to narrow the gap. But the Tigers' 19 points in the final period was more than enough to hold off the Rockets.
