Darlene D. "Dolly" Faulkner, 85, of Aledo, formerly of New Boston, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Services were 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at New Boston United Methodist Church.
Darlene D. "Dolly" Faulkner, 85, of Aledo, formerly of New Boston, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Mercer County Nursing Home, Aledo. Services were 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, at New Boston United Methodist Church. Visitation was at 10 a.m. until services. Reverend Richard Bishop of the New Boston United Methodist Church and Reverend Kevin Pauley of Community Bible Fellowship, Aledo officiated. Pat Olson played the organ and Evonne Bishop performed "The Old Rugged Cross."
Serving as pallbearers were Ron Bieri, Allan Sedam, Gary Sedam, Rick Sedam, Tom Sedam and Fred Faulkner. Burial was at the New Boston Cemetery. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo, handled arrangements. She was born Aug. 18, 1923, in Millersburg Township, the daughter of William A. and Susan M. Duesenberry Sedam. She married James Lyle Faulkner on Aug. 30, 1941, in Memphis, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 6, 1986.
Dolly was a farmwife. She also had worked at the Joy Grocery Store.
In her younger days she enjoyed bowling. She was a member of Community Bible Fellowship, Aledo.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Faulkner, Joy; son-in-law, Gary (Barb) Dixon, Aledo; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Dixon; son, Jim Faulkner; four sisters and five brothers.
