Blow ye the trump in zion, and sound the alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the lord cometh, for it is neigh at hand.

Blow ye the trump in zion, and sound the alarm in my holy mountain; let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the lord cometh, for it is neigh at hand.

A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains; a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations. Joel 2:1,2

Although we don't like to dwell at all on the negative, we must take a real good look at the day we live in so we can conquer it.

The day of the Lord is a great day of joy and excitement for the Christian, but a day of gloominess for everyone else. We don't rejoice in this, but need to be compassionate for those who will go through these horrible days on this earth. These days are certainly the days to be stable in the Lord. In fact, if we aren't careful, we could even be deceived. We need to keep ourselves pure and stay in the will go God. Absolutely nothing should be so important to us that we would trade our walk with Jesus Christ for it.

And then Jesus answered and said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you. Matthew 24:4.

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:10, 11

Jesus was very clear when He warned us of the deceptive powers of the day. Why won't people listen to the Master's words and obey Him? It wouldn't only spare their lives, but also the lives of their loved ones.

Many people ask what they can do to survive the times. The first thing is that they must do more than survive or cope with the times - they must conquer.

The teachings of Jesus are more and more disappearing from the Body of Christ. That sounds like a radical statement, but it is true.

People today know a lot about Jesus, but few really know Him. If there was ever a day to be close to Him personally,, it is today. Don' let anything stop you from your personal fellowship with Him. Some believers more and more lose track of His style and His words, they will more and more follow after humanism, sin and other spiritual distractions.

Fall in love with the words of our Lord and Saviour, and they will become first place in your life.

You must stand fast, keep your hope, and do all you know to do to be established.

Paul gives a strong word to live by.

Therefore brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God, even our father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through graced.

Comfort your hearts, and establish you in every good word and work. 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17

1. Stand Fast.

2. Hold the tradition that you have been taught.

3. Be established in every good word and work.

We must stand fast today and not be like the "drifting" or "flighty" ones. It's easier than you think: Be decisive, and do all the very simple practical things that are expected of a Christian (like attending church regularly, tithing and giving cheerfully, forgiving all trespasses against you, and fellowshipping with true believers).

Hold fast the tradition that you have been taught. Don't ignore all that you have been taught, or live against all you have been taught, its up to us. We have been taught what to do, so all we have to do is , do it. But, don't ever take for granted that because you believe or know something, that you are doing it. Knowing is one thing, but doing it is another.
