Teen’s Eagle Project Scores a Goal

Ryan Mack of Troop 435 in New Windsor, IL, has achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. Mack has earned 32 merit badges during his 10-year Scouting career.

 Ryan Mack of Troop 435 in New Windsor, IL, has achieved the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. Mack has earned 32 merit badges during his 10-year Scouting career. He has held such leadership positions as Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and Scribe.

Mack’s accomplishment in serving his community was to give the Viola Soccer Field area an overhaul. Mack led a team of 22 volunteers in stripping, priming, and painting bleachers, concession stand doors, window trim, and picnic tables. The team also updated the area around the building by replacing old railroad ties with rock and building a planter full of bushes to surround the sign.

Mack is the son of Pete and Denise Mack of Viola, IL, and is a junior at Sherrard High School where he maintains a position on the honor roll, has been acknowledged in Academic Excellence, and holds leadership positions in the band. His college plans are to pursue an engineering degree.

Ryan Mack’s Eagle ceremony will be held on November 12 at 3:00 p.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in New Windsor.
