Myron “Dean” Johnston, age 78 of Woodstock, Georgia passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at his residence. No local services are scheduled at this time.

Myron Johnston was born September 25, 1941 and was a longtime resident of Aledo, Illinois. After several moves, he made Woodstock, Georgia his home for the past 20 years.

Dean loved making people laugh and being the life of the party.  His idols were John Wayne and Clint Eastwood and he must have seen every one of their movies a hundred times.  His past time was playing the lottery and he was so proud of winning it “big” in 2007. This quote from Clint Eastwood seems fitting for Dean’s farewell. “There's a rebel lying deep in my soul. Anytime anybody tells me the trend is such and such, I go the opposite direction. I hate the idea of trends. I hate imitation; I have a reverence for individuality.”

He is survived by his daughters; Teena (Chuck) Foust of Liberty Hill, Texas and Carol (Ned) Atkins of Georgetown, Texas, his brother Michael (Pat) Johnston of Smithville, Texas, his sister Diane Berkshire of Phoenix, Ariz., Grandchildren; Blake (Kim) Schrock, Jessica (Nick) Cottingham, Nicholas (Maria) Schrock, Apryl (Dave) Sumners and Virginia Reed, Great-Grandchildren; Ayden, Brent, Madison, Payton, Braelynn, Berkley, Beckham and Allie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Myron Thomas and Anna Marie Johnston, and his brother, Raymond Johnston.
