(June 4, 2020 Aledo, IL) The Mercer County Health Department (MCHD) today announced the eighteenth resident from Mercer County to test positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). The case is a male between the ages of 40-60. Due to Federal privacy restrictions, release of any additional information on this case is prohibited. Public Health Officials are identifying and contacting all close contacts of this case.

The case is a male between the ages of 20-40. Due to Federal privacy restrictions, release of any additional information on this case is prohibited. Public Health Officials are identifying and contacting all close contacts of this case.


“We cannot emphasize enough the importance of following the protocols for stopping the spread of this disease – physical distancing, wearing a mask in public spaces, good hand hygiene and avoiding unnecessary social settings,” said Carla Ewing, Administrator. “We understand that with the opening into Phase 3, the temptation will be to relax the efforts we have put into place as a community to protect ourselves and those most vulnerable.
