Fairview School that originally was in Preemption Township for school years 1863-1952 received a facelift this year. Mercer County Historical Society had the one room school moved to the Essley-Noble Museum in Aledo in the 1960's. On October 27, 1969 the school was dedicated and received a new roof at the time.
The Looser Flake Foundation gave a grant award to the Mercer County Historical Society for the painting and sealing of the school house in 2020. The school was pressure washed on July 29, 2020 and was painted August 17th & 18th and the roof and ramps were sealed. Work on the school was completed by Tommy Carroll Painting. Pictured are before and after pics of the school.
