Shelby J. Kenney Bryson
Alzheimer's may of taken our beloved "momma", "grandma", and "nana's" memories from her long before the day she went home. But it cannot steal the memories "of her" from those who's lives she touched on this earth. Her earthly wings covered not just her family and friends, but her children's friends, her foster boys, visitors from abroad, and those she was a nanny to. She will be remembered by many.
Shelby J. Kenney Bryson, 84, of Scottsdale, Az. Formerly of Aledo passed away Friday, September 17, 2021. As per her request there will not be services.
She was born in Matherville, IL, on January 28, 1937 to Ivan and Helen Litwiler Lilliman. She married Donnie Kenney on June 13, 1953. They were later divorced.
Shelby was known in her hometown of Aledo for establishing the Town Crier Advertiser which she later sold to the Times Record.
She served the Democratic Party as Mercer County Chairwoman and was a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Kay (Steve) Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ.; Natalie (Colin) McKeown of LaCrosse, WI, and son Jerry Kenney of Aledo, IL. Sisters Shirley Harker of Aledo,IL. and Linda (Roger) Tharp of Aledo, IL. 13 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great-great Granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Marty Kenney.
Memorials may be left to the American Cancer Society or March of Dimes.
