Sandra Jean Grammer

Joy - Sandra Jean Grammer, 65, of Joy, IL passed away October 2 at her daughter's home in Oxford, IA surrounded by family.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Sandy was born December 14th, 1955 in Algona, IA to Josephine and Matthias Hentges. She grew up in Joy where she attended Westmer High School and later went on to receive her AA in Accounting from Black Hawk College.

Sandy was larger than life and truly lived to the fullest. She always had a smile and a kind word for those around her. Her sense of humor was appreciated by those who knew her well and made her a joy to be around. She loved playing softball and bowling but mostly enjoyed her time spent playing cards with friends. In the last few years of her life, she enjoyed the time she had with her husband Willy, her children Ben and Stacey and her grandchildren. Time with family was the most cherished.

Sandy is survived by her husband, William Grammer; sister, Connie Fisher; daughter Stacey (Sam) Miller; son Ben (Dana) Murphy; stepdaughter Katie (Ron) McCaw; stepson Todd (Angie) Grammer; many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by her son William Earnest Mowry, her stepson Pete Grammer, parents Matt and Josephine Hentges, her siblings Tina Hentges, Marcy Hentges, Larry Hentges and Janel Plevel.
